    1. Good job! You could add more detail. But over all it looks good.

  2. A form of persecution that I saw in the book was when Harriet was
being kicked out halfway through the ride home just because she was a different skin color. Keep in mind this happened when slavery was abolished! The emotions evoked had to be sadness, anger, and Harriet might even have been surprised. I definitely felt sad, angry, and surprised!

  3. A scene that I choose is in the beginning of the story when the baby started crying because it was hungry and Harriet got blamed for it. An emotion that evoked to me was sadness and mad. I got sad because I felt bad for Harriet when she got in trouble for something she didn't do and angry with Miss Sarah.

Nice job Mike! I like how you explained why you felt sad and angry. I felt sad and angry as well which means you did a good job of choosing the emotions. Just remember to place your commas in the necessary place.

  4. The scene I chose was when Harriet would be blamed for making the baby cry. The baby was hungry and Harriet was simply trying to keep her from waking the master. It made me sad to know that she had nothing to do with making the baby cry. It also made me angry because of how harsh the master was on her. I also felt amazed on how Harriet handled the issue. She remained calm. If I was her, I would have gotten upset with the master.

A form of persecution that I saw in the book was when Harriet was
being moved to the baggage room halfway through the ride home just because she was a different skin color. Keep in mind this happened when slavery was abolished! After all her hard work in serving as hospital nurse, freeing the slaves, and ending slavery once in for all; she is treated like dirt! The emotions evoked had to be sadness, anger, and Harriet might even have been surprised. I definitely felt sad, angry, and surprised!
